Iron County Jail Roster

The Iron County jail roster is a public resource that lists individuals currently held or recently booked into the Iron County Jail in Utah. IronCourt.us can help you find publicly available information about current and recent inmates in Iron County. You can also access jail roster information through the Iron County Sheriff's Office website, by calling the jail directly, or by visiting the facility in person. A jail roster search allows the public to look up who is in custody, view booking details, and confirm charges. The Iron County Sheriff's Office maintains the roster and hosts it on its official website, where it is updated on a regular basis as inmates are booked in or released.

Search Current Inmates in Iron County Jail

There are several ways to search for someone currently held in the Iron County Jail:

  1. Online through IronCourt.us — Search for publicly available court record and inmate information associated with Iron County.
  2. Iron County Sheriff's Office website — Visit the current inmate roster page, which lists all individuals currently booked into the jail. The roster is displayed as a browsable table that you can sort by clicking the "Booking Date" column header. You can also use your browser's built-in find function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to search for a specific name within the list.
  3. Recent arrests page — The recent arrests page shows bookings from the past three days, with the most recent arrests listed first. The page refreshes automatically.
  4. By phone — Call the Iron County Jail to ask about a specific inmate's custody status.
  5. In person — Visit the jail facility during business hours to inquire at the front desk.

To search, you will need the individual's full legal name. A booking number, if known, can help narrow results. Juvenile offenders are not included on the public roster.

Note on booking photos: Beginning March 18, 2021, Iron County no longer posts, distributes, or discloses inmate booking photos on the public roster. Post-conviction and post-sentencing photos may be obtained through a GRAMA records request.

Find Iron County Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created each time an individual is processed into the Iron County Jail. During the intake process, jail staff generate a record that typically includes:

  • Booking number
  • Date and time of booking
  • Charges filed at the time of arrest
  • Arresting agency
  • Inmate's name and demographic information

You can access current booking records online through the current inmate roster or the recent arrests page on the Iron County Sheriff's Office website. Both pages are free to use and require no account or login.

If you need records beyond what appears on the online roster — such as older bookings, incident reports, or arrest documentation — you can submit a GRAMA records request through the Sheriff's Office. Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), codified at Utah Code § 63G-2, governs which records are available for public release. Some records classified as controlled or private under GRAMA section 63G-2-202 are not subject to release.

For court case information connected to a booking, the Utah Courts Xchange system provides searchable district and justice court case data. Iron County falls within the Fifth District Court.

Search the Iron County Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The Iron County inmate roster supports two primary ways to find someone:

Search by Name

  1. Go to the current inmate roster page.
  2. Use your browser's find function (Ctrl+F on Windows, Cmd+F on Mac) to type in the person's last name.
  3. The browser will highlight any matching entries in the table.

Tips for name searches:

  • Use the person's full legal last name — nicknames and aliases may not appear.
  • Double-check spelling. A single wrong letter can cause you to miss a match.
  • If the last name is common, add the first name to your browser search to narrow results.

Search by Booking Number

If you already have a booking number, use the same browser find function to locate the specific entry. Booking numbers are unique identifiers assigned at intake, so this method returns an exact match.

If Your Search Returns No Results

  • The person may have already been released — the roster shows only those currently in custody.
  • There may be a delay between the actual booking and when the record appears online.
  • The person may be held at a different facility or may have been transferred to the Utah Department of Corrections.
  • Try the recent arrests page, which covers the last three days of bookings.
  • Call the jail directly to confirm whether someone is in custody.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Iron County

The Iron County jail roster and recent arrests page are updated regularly as new bookings are processed and inmates are released. The recent arrests page refreshes automatically and displays arrests from the past three days. However, there are practical limitations to be aware of:

  • Processing delays: A short gap may exist between when someone is physically booked into the jail and when their information appears on the online roster. This can range from minutes to several hours depending on intake volume.
  • Release timing: Once an inmate is released — whether through bail, bond, court order, or completion of a sentence — their record is removed from the current roster. There is no publicly accessible online archive of past bookings on the Sheriff's Office website.
  • No booking photos: As of March 2021, booking photos are no longer published on the roster due to changes in Utah state law.
  • Current custody only: The roster reflects a snapshot of who is in the jail at any given time. It is not a comprehensive criminal history database.

For broader criminal history searches, you can request records through the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification. To check for outstanding warrants statewide, use the Utah Statewide Warrants search tool. If someone has been sentenced to state prison, search the Utah Department of Corrections offender search — note that pretrial detainees held in county jails will not appear in that system.
